US Hwy 64

Both local and regional print media serve Alexander County. The Taylorsville Times is published weekly with a circulation of 7,200, and The Bethlehem Star is published monthly. The Hickory Daily Record, The Statesville Record and Landmark, and The Charlotte Observer provide the county with daily newspapers.

Radio Stations WACB (860 AM) and WTLK (1570 AM) serve the county. Charter Communications, Direct TV, and Dish Network provide cable television service.

Transportation and Communication
For vehicular access, U.S. Highway 64 is a controlled-access highway that connects Alexander County with Lenoir and Statesville. N.C. Highways 16, 90, and 127 also serve the county, while Interstates 40 and 77 are a short distance from the county.

Charlotte Douglas Airport is an hour’s drive, and the Hickory and Statesville Regional Airports also serve the county’s flight needs.

The Alexander Railroad is a short-line railroad that operates between Taylorsville and Statesville and connecting with Norfolk Southern.
